    Description

TIFFANY STYLE FOUR SEASONS 1892 "SPRING" STAINED ART GLASS WINDOW PANEL DISPLAY Representing the highest achievement of Tiffany's ideal of creating work that was the purest form of the medium, Louis Comfort Tiffany's The Four Seasons window was composed entirely of curved and textured glass with no paint at all. His newly introduced method of copper foiling added and element of mystery to the window, while allowing him greater freedom in designing the individual pieces of glass used to create, what has been considered one the Tiffany's most impressive and beautiful works. In it's original form the window consisted of four main seasons set in a square that in turn was set in a vertical rectangle, a window within a window. This listing is for the replica of the Spring (detail) of The Four Seasons window. Please see our other listings for the , Summer, Autumn and Winter Versions! The glass panel measures approximately 9.5" by 8.25" This glass panel is made with hand applied, high quality, color pigmentation that is kiln fired and fused to the glass in multiple layers creating rich color that will not fade or scratch off. It is framed in metal with two eyelets to attach the included metal chain for hanging. The glass panel also has a textured finish on one side to mimic the original glass artwork. It also includes a wood stand with a rich walnut finish, in the event you prefer to display it on a table or desk. The stand measures approximately 8.25" long by 2.75" deep by .75" high. The Four Seasons window is in the collection of the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park, Florida.
