    Menthyl Lactate is a fragrance and cooling agent used in cosmetics. It is a derivative of Menthol, but it is less irritating when used in cosmetics. It is soluble in alcohol and oils and slightly soluble in water (approximately 141mg per liter at 77 degrees Fahrenheit). Use Menthyl Lactate at a 0.1 - 2.0% concentration in cosmetic formulations.
