teas that give a beautiful dark tea color, robust but clean tea taste without the bitterness of most teas offered from food service and coffee distributors. You may find the taste to be more appealing and palatable than fresh brewed teas from Tetley, Rituals, Lipton, Luzianne, Harney and Son's, S&D, Royal Cup and others. This tea is perfect for sweet tea and iced serving pitchers.
These teas are blended and packaged here in the USA in a state certified facility.
This tea brews best in properly working commercial Bunn, Curtis, Fetco, Newco, Grindmaster and other tea brewers or can be brewed using a coffee maker. These are pre-packaged to make 3 finished gallons of tea / 24 brews per case (or a total of 72 gallons of finished product).
Each box also contains brew filters that fit most Commercial tea brewers.
I have been asked why our tea is not in the little "pillow packs" like other mass produced tea. There are two reasons for this -
(1) - To get the best extraction (and flavor) from the tea leafs, tea needs to be uniformly sprayed and covered with hot water (from the brewer) to properly "steep" the tea to get the flavor. The best way to do this is brewing the tea loosely and not restricted.
(2) - Tea in some "pillow packs" are machine processed, breaking the leafs into a almost "dust" like state
(open one and take a look)
. The"pillow packs" contain these small particles. Our teas are larger leafs for larger flavor!
To get best extraction from the tea leafs - Commercial Tea Brewers
Make certain your brewer is heating the water to at least 195 degrees where it comes out of the brewer.
You get at least 64 to 78 ounces of hot brew water from the brewer for 3 gallons of tea
It has the proper brew basket with restrictor - Most Bunn and Curtis brew baskets have these but some times people remove them. The restrictor lets the tea "steep" in the brew basket to extract flavor. Coffee brew baskets are not recommended.
Check the water flow - spray head. If the water is dropping straight down out of the brewer either has limed brew lines or missing the spray-head.
