    Description

    Horiba Jobin Yvon Digisel 632.8nm
For sale- a Horiba Jobin Yvon Digisel 632.8nm , I guess, Instrument Number 23310310.
I got that off of the Final Control Report that you see in the last picture, so it may or may not be related to the actual pieces I am offering.
All of the pieces that are numbered, as pictured, start with 230, so maybe 23310310 describes an entire system.
    But a system of what?
After less than exhaustive research on the Horiba website I am going to GUESS that this is some sort of Spectroscopic Interferometer system, which they currently refer to as DIGILEM, or an Optical Emission Spectroscope, which they refer to as DIGISEM.
    Or possibly a Spectroscopic Ellipsometer.
    Or none of the above.
All of which seem to be involved in monitoring thin film.
But again, I am just guessing, I can find zero about DIGISEL online and nothing attaching it to Horiba or Jobin Yvon.
Looking at the cover of the DIGISEL software manual I obviously do not have the aluminum base that these pieces attach to, but from the time spent on the Horiba website it looks like they could be attached to some larger instrument or system.
I would assume it would require the right alignment but I do not have that aluminum base, so if that’s a deal breaker you’re going to have to find it elsewhere.
And again, most of what I am saying, OK, all of what I am saying is basically pure conjecture.
What you see is what you get.
Amongst the things you see/get there is a USB thumb drive but I couldn’t get that to load on my Windows 10 labtop, it doesn’t want to recognize it.
Maybe you would have better luck, maybe not.
The control unit/CPU powers up and in turn that powers up the laser as pictured.
Otherwise untested, sold as is, and NO warranty is offered.
However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.
Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.
Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed.
Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs.
Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.
As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk.
If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways.
If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it.
In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.
The part that holds the laser is labeled as Type 23049850A (EM), presumabl;y for Emission?
The part that I assume would then pick up that laser signal is labeled Type 23049850A (REC), again presumably for receiver?
And the Controller Type 23049850B (921).
Oh yeah, and the preamp is labeled PreampII.
Couple of other pieces as pictured, all of which tended to be wrapped up with a soft piece of cloth covered with aluminum foil to secure it in place.
    Which
seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to if it was removed from service not working.
Several cables included as well, again as pictured.
If you don’t see it you won’t get it.

Sold as is, as described, as pictured.
Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.
Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.
If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.
Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.
Payment is expected within 7 days of the close of the sale and I need to hear from you within 3 days to confirm the transaction.
Because of the weight and/or bulk of the item I have chosen to let ebay’s shipping calculator figure out the cost based on your zip code.
It would be shipping from 27948 in a box presumed to be 24x24x24, 90 pounds.
The ebay shipping calculator has had personal problems that they seem unable or unwilling to rectify since at least January of 2017.
Lately at least they show an outrageous shipping charge and then actually charge you that (they get 9+% of the shipping too so obviously anything they can do to pad the delivered total is money in the bank).
So if the charge looks outrageous it isn’t me coming up with that number.
If it turns out to be way too much I will refund a portion of it after I know what my actual cost is, but you should remind me as it takes almost a month for the shipping cost to get posted to my account.
If the device being offered here requires a standard modular computer style AC cord I NO LONGER ship those automatically as most people have accumulated a box of them by now.
IF you need such an AC cord please request one when the item is purchased.
